  • AP Club and 30+ club tutoring will be moved to next Wednesday instead of Monday in the library. This is next week ONLY!  We will be in the library until 4:15 to help with any core subject or ACT practice. Please see Mrs Etzel in room 4203 if you have specific subjects you need help with so we can prepare ahead of time.

  • Seniors:

    • The Ouachita Valley Federal Credit Union 2023 Scholarship Application is now available and has a due date of March 30. Get your copy in Guidance or online at gorebs.org under Guidance/Scholarships.

    • The Guidance Department wants to give you a friendly reminder that The Jason Paul Cameron Foundation Scholarship deadline is this week! The deadline to turn in your application and all supporting documents to the Guidance Office is Wednesday, March 1st.

    • This is a reminder for those students who received a Senior Document Request for a copy of your birth certificate or social security card. Please get those documents to your counselor as soon as possible.

  • Freshmen and Sophomores:

    • If you received a green JumpStart signup form from your guidance counselor, please return the signed form to guidance as soon as possible if you plan to schedule a Jump Start pathway. Remember, without the signed form, your counselor can not schedule you in Jump Start classes.

  • Juniors:

    • We will be administering the ACT Tuesday, March 7th here at West Monroe High School for all juniors. In order to prepare for test day, we will be setting up your MyACT accounts next week, Wednesday, March 1st during one of your classes.  This is absolutely mandatory for you to be able to test the following week. Do not miss school next Wednesday. You will find lists posted on either side of the Library that will tell you when and where you are to report for this non-test coding next Wednesday.  Make sure you take a picture of your Coding Location so you will know where to go that day and during which class period. Make sure Wednesday you have your Chromebook with you and fully charged as you head to your Coding Location. The ACT test is completely on-line. Also check out our webpage for additional information about the ACT Test at gorebs.org. You will look under the Parent & Students Tab.  Click TESTING and then open the "ACT Documents" folder. In there you will find information about the required ID for testing day as well as general instructions for the day itself.

  • Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors: We are now accepting A-HEC applications. This program is free. It takes place during the summer for three weeks at a local hospital and is worth a semester elective grade. A-HEC allows students to get up close and personal with doctors, nurses, patients, etc. This is your chance to see if you are able to handle a medical career! If you are interested in this great opportunity, come by room 3101 and pick up an application on the desk outside Mrs. Nelson’s room.

  • Juniors and Seniors: If you are interested in health careers and would like to participate in the summer program M*A*S*H at Louisiana Tech, pickup an application on the desk outside Mrs. Nelson’s room 3101. You have the opportunity to learn about medical theories, diagnosis, and treatments through lab exercises and lectures in this 12-day course. You must have a 3.0 GPA or higher and at least 21 ACT composite score. The due date for this opportunity is March 3rd. Once you have your application completed, mail it to the address on the bottom of the application.

  • The "Apple" test will be offered on Tuesday, March 21st. If you know another language, wish to test out of world language classes, and want to qualify for the Louisiana Seal of Biliteracy, this is the test for you. See Mrs. Ballance in room 2207 to sign up or to get more information. The cost of the test is $20.
